Gwen creates scale models with Rhino software for accuracy in design and communication with clients and contractors.

Environmental impact:

A precious metals artist is careful to recycle and conserve materials as a conscious practice of adaptive reuse.

The human form:

After studying portrait sculpture with Joan Martin of Philadelphia, and at Maine College of Art & Design graduate, Gwen obtained a BFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing in 1984.

A focus on connections:

In order to create truly original work, new tools and technology are invented by artists and craftspeople. Hendry’s work includes rivets, hinges, and inventive clasps and visual connections are essential to her work.

An avid learner:

Gwendolyn has studied, lost wax casting at BU’s Program In Artisanry, Blacksmithing at Haystack, Chasing, and Repousse, Die Forming, and Stone Setting Techniques at Worcester Center for Crafts, and she continues to study Rhino 3D drawing with PJ Chen.

Nature lover:

When not in the studio, Gwendolyn enjoys sailing and taking long walks in the forests and along the shores of New England. with her husband Chris. She always looks forward to visiting with her twin daughters, Sophia and Emma.
